Over Yandere Roadmap
Hello everyone, I know that a lot of projects like this either don't get completed or don't know where they're going and get stuck forever in "feature creep" or something like that. While there's nothing for certain in this world, I do want to share my roadmap for Over Yandere to give you a better sense of where we are, the status of development and where we're going. I would like to start off by saying that I have a full-time job outside of game dev, which is why the development is planned to take some time. On the other hand, I am an incredibly degenerate weeb, so I am very committed to seeing this game through to launch. The goals you are about to see are meant to be figuratively conservative, not politically conservative because Reagan would never approve of anything in this game. With that tasteless joke aside, what I mean is that if I accomplish things ahead of time (which I just might!) then I will be able to release this game a bit ahead of schedule. We are also still waiting on some game art the schedule of which I can't completely control, but I'll keep you all posted on that as well.
October: All item quests needed to complete all the endings are finished (DONE)
November: All quests needed to unlock question sets are complete (IN PROGRESS)
December: Freeroam is feature complete(things like pop-ups when you finish a quest, a minimap, a sprint/bike for getting around, better formatted freeroam dialogue etc.)
January: Freeroam is tile complete and fully tested(All the grey that's there right now will be filled in and all the quests will be bug-free)
February: Dialogue expansion and spellchecking is complete(Right now each main character only has one dialogue per emotion level, I'll be expanding that to 3 and spell checking what I already have to prepare it for release)
March: Whole game is tested and complete(testing going from point A to point B through the whole game and any little issues are dealt with), advertising plans and launch preparations are made
April: Game launch
Just to clarify: the pixel art part of the game is what I call the Freeroam and the dialogue portion with the main characters is not the Freeroam. I plan to post monthly updates on these goals and let you guys know about the progress so far. Let me know what you think of these goals or if you have any questions on our Discord or in the comments. I'm also thinking of making short videos to showcase parts of the game or interesting things that I have so far, like dialogue insults that I'm proud of.
